| All of the islands, except Madeline, are part of the U.S. National Park System. They provide many miles of uninhabited shoreline, secluded anchorages, old lighthouses and trails to explore. The U.S. Park Service maintains camping areas and nature trails in as pristine a condition as they can. | |
| In addition, there are some docks with limited space available for visiting some islands. Although you could sail in the Apostles for years and still discover something new each time, for the adventurous there are other destinations of interest: Isle Royale National Park, Black River Harbor, Michigan & the Porcupine Mountains, Minnesota's & Canada's North Shore or the Keweenaw Peninsula to name just a few. |
